About Sorrento, Maine

Located the old, establishment summer community of Sorrento, Maine, a Sorrento summer at Highpoint is a safe, private, and idyllic dream for children and adults alike.  Generations of families have summered here, and still do, building traditions and memories one year at a time. Here you'll find group tennis for adults (with separate lessons for children), competitive class sailboat races alternate with the quite repose of reading a book in the gazebo or inside on an overstuffed down sofa. On any given evening you might find an after-race cocktail party on a neighbor's front porch as the sun sets and see teams of children during “Library Night” canvas the village homes for treasure hunt items, searching for everything from a porcupine quill to a 1953 penny.
An unrivaled setting.

The century old Village Improvement Association, or VIA, offers a wide range of summer activities in July and August, from sailing, tennis, croquet, swimming, Camp Sorrento, to children's overnights, and golf at Blink Bonnie. This means that for such a lowkey, relaxed vacation spot, there are many things to do without leaving town. The Blink Bonnie Golf Course offers 9 holes of stunning beauty overlooking Treasure Island and Flanders Bay. A brand new croquet court and pavillion are one block up the hill from Highpoint and sociable, potluck dinners are held each week night in the Library community room across the street, where afterwards someone might show a film of their recent climbing of Mt. McKinely. If this is all too much activity, you can always just sit in the gazebo, or on a bench down by the water, and enjoy the peaceful beauty.
